Join us for an enchanting opera journey!
The Ottawa Symphony Orchestra is pleased to welcome back a luminary of the art of song, Measha Brueggergosman. A global talent appearing this year in her operatic debut at the Finnish National Opera, and at venues including the likes of the Barbican London and Carnegie Hall, Ms. Brueggergosman is back to perform with the Ottawa Symphony after a 17-year absence.
Known for presenting rising Canadian talent each season, the Ottawa Symphony first welcomed Ms. Brueggergosman in 2001 to perform in Verdi’s Requiem, and then again in 2002 for Britten's War Requiem. Many Ottawans enjoyed the chance to hear her with the Ottawa Symphony first, while others can get their chance on May 27th at 7:30 pm at Dominion-Chalmers.
Last season, in a performance of Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony, the Ottawa Symphony featured a chorus of choruses from across our region. For Opera Amore, the Orchestra and Ms. Brueggergosman will also be joined by a chorus of local choirs including members of the Arnprior Community Choir, Calixa-Lavallee Choir, the Canadian Centennial Choir, Carleton University Choir, Cheryl Woods Workshop Choir, Almonte, Choeur Classique de l’Outaouais, Ewasko Singers, Harmonia Choir of Ottawa, Nepean Choir, Nepean High School Chamber Choir, Ottawa Classical Choir, Stairwell Singers, University of Ottawa Choir.
